Pomonok Dreams tells a story about growing up in a special place called Pomonok Houses during the 1950s and 1960s.
Told through the voices of the people who grew up and lived there, and using vintage photos and super-8 home movies, Pomonok Dreams reveals a thriving community built on meaningful values that nurtured life-long friendships and produced many successful people. Pomonok Houses, a New York City Housing Authority project was constructed in Flushing, Queens to help relieve the city housing shortage following WWII. Pomonok Dreams, an hour long documentary, is an example of how safe and affordable public housing was and can continue to be home, community, and playground to hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers.
